Art Deco chest of drawers upcycled painted dark blue and gold vintage retro

 
 
This is a fabulous vintage, Art Deco, chest of Drawers.  It offers good storage space with three drawers, each slightly larger than the one above. It has a lovely Art Deco style and shape with beautiful handles.  The metal handles have a Vtiruvian wave or scroll pattern design. We've highlighted both the handles and the feet with gold Gilding wax, which looks stunning against the deep, inky, blue. This striking dark navy, colour is a custom blend of 3 Fusion Mineral Paint colours; Midnight Blue, Liberty Blue and Coal Black and we think it works perfectly with this gorgeous, vintage piece. The sides and insides of the drawers have been nourished with hemp oil and we have left these unpainted.
 
This is a classy piece that would fit well into the, ever popular, dark decor, interior style, as well as give a dramatic flourish to a more neutral space. It's a stylish chest of drawers that would work well in many spaces, including smaller rooms, with its compact size.
 
We are always delighted to be able to rescue and refinish beautiful, good quality, pieces that have been neglected.  We lavish them with care and attention, clean them thoroughly and breathe new life into them, but we can't make them look like new - and we don't want to!  These are character pieces and their imperfections are an integral part of their story.  As a vintage piece it does show signs of use and age, but these do not detract from its style and practicality.  There is some gapping between the frame and top of the drawers, due to wear.  We have kept the sides and insides of the drawers unpainted, to ensure the drawers run without any problems and have treated with Hemp Oil to nourish the wood.
